How to Cancel Bitdefender in 2026
To cancel Bitdefender, sign in at central.bitdefender.com, open My Subscriptions, and turn off auto-renewal. The catch: if you bought Bitdefender through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or a Verifone/2Checkout store, that "cancel" button in your Bitdefender account does nothing. You have to cancel wherever the money actually leaves your account.
Short answer: Kill auto-renewal in Bitdefender Central under My Subscriptions. If billing runs through an app store or a third-party seller, cancel there instead. Your protection keeps working until the current period ends.

Where is the Bitdefender cancel button, really?
There is no single "cancel my account" button that stops every charge. Bitdefender sells the same software through several checkout systems, and each one owns its own billing. The button you need depends entirely on who charged you.
Check your card statement or the original receipt email. The merchant name tells you which path to use:
- Bitdefender or Digital River on the statement: cancel in Bitdefender Central (Method 1).
- Verifone, 2Checkout, or CleverBridge: cancel in the store account (Method 2).
- Apple.com/Bill or Apple Services: cancel in the App Store (Method 3).
- Google Play: cancel in the Play Store (Method 3).
Cancelling in the wrong place feels like it worked, then the renewal charge lands anyway. So confirm the merchant first.
How do I cancel Bitdefender in Bitdefender Central?
Use this if you bought directly from bitdefender.com. Turning off auto-renewal is what actually stops the next charge. Uninstalling the app does not.
- Go to central.bitdefender.com and sign in with the email and password on your Bitdefender account.
- Click My Subscriptions in the left-hand menu.
- Open the My Payments tab at the top.
- Click View details next to the product you want to stop.
- Click Manage your subscription renewal options.
- Click End Auto-Renewal, pick a reason, then confirm by clicking End Auto-Renewal again.
The status flips immediately and you get a confirmation email. No email means it did not go through, so check again.
There is a second route: on the Subscriptions tab, click the ... menu on the subscription, choose Subscription & Continuous Protection, then Cancel Subscription. You can pick Cancel at the end of subscription term or, if you bought more than 30 days ago, Cancel immediately.
One trap: if the email you bought with is different from your Bitdefender Central login, Bitdefender sends a verification code to the purchase email. Enter it, confirm the code, and continue. If you cannot find that inbox, you cannot see the payment, and you are stuck until you do.
How do I cancel if I bought through Verifone or 2Checkout?
Bitdefender uses a reseller (Verifone, formerly 2Checkout) for some purchases. That billing lives outside Bitdefender Central.
- Go to store.bitdefender.com/myaccount/ and sign in with the email you used at checkout.
- Open the My Products tab.
- Click Stop automatic subscription renewal and confirm.
If you are not sure whether your charge went through this store, the receipt email will say Verifone or 2Checkout. When in doubt, do both: turn off renewal in Central and in the store account.
How do I cancel Bitdefender on iPhone or Android?
This is the gotcha that catches the most people. If you subscribed to Bitdefender Mobile Security inside the app on your phone, neither Bitdefender Central nor Verifone controls the billing. The app store does. You cancel there.
Apple App Store (iPhone or iPad):
- Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Bitdefender Mobile Security.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Google Play (Android):

Yes. Turning off auto-renewal is not the same as switching the software off. Your Bitdefender protection stays active until the expiration date you already paid for. You are cancelling the next charge, not this one. So there is no reason to wait until the last day. Cancel now and let it ride out the term.
What about a refund?
Bitdefender offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on purchases made directly through its website, for both new orders and renewals, if you are not satisfied. Turning off auto-renewal does not trigger a refund on its own. You have to ask.
For a direct purchase, request the refund through Bitdefender's support contact within 30 days. Bitdefender can only refund orders placed on its official website. If you bought through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or another seller, that vendor handles the refund, not Bitdefender:
