How to Cancel Calm in 2026 (App Store vs In-App)
To cancel Calm, you cancel in whichever store you signed up through. Apple subscription: iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Calm > Cancel Subscription. Google Play: Play Store > profile icon > Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions > Calm > Cancel subscription. Bought directly from Calm: log in at calm.com/profile, then Settings > Manage Subscription > Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before a free trial ends so you are not charged, and you keep Calm Premium until the current period runs out.
Short answer: Cancel in the store that bills you (Apple, Google, or calm.com), not by deleting the app. Deleting the Calm app does nothing to the billing. If a trial is involved, cancel 24+ hours before it ends.

The thing that trips people up: there is no single "cancel" button that works for everyone. If Apple or Google takes the payment, the Calm app and website cannot cancel it. You have to go to that store. And canceling does not auto-refund. It stops the next charge, but you ask for money back separately if you were already billed.
How do you know which Calm subscription you have?
Before you cancel anything, figure out who actually charges you. Cancel in the wrong place and the billing keeps going.
- Check your receipt email. Search your inbox for "Calm," "Apple receipt," or "Google Play order." Apple and Google both email a receipt that names them.
- Check your bank or card statement. If the charge reads "APPLE.COM/BILL" you subscribed through Apple. If it reads "Google" you went through Google Play. If it names Calm directly, you bought on the web.
- Check your phone's subscription list. If Calm shows up under your iPhone or Google Play subscriptions, that store bills you. If it does not appear there, you most likely subscribed directly at calm.com.
How do you cancel Calm on iPhone (Apple subscription)?
If you started Calm inside the iOS app or your charge says Apple, cancel through Apple. The Calm app itself cannot stop an Apple charge.
- Open your iPhone or iPad Settings app.
- Tap your name (your Apple Account) at the very top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Calm in the list of active subscriptions.
- Tap Cancel Subscription (it may read Cancel Free Trial if you are still in a trial). Confirm.
If you do not see a Cancel button, the subscription is already canceled or it is not billed through Apple. Apple processes the cancellation right away, and you keep Calm Premium until the end of the period you already paid for.
How do you cancel Calm on Android (Google Play)?
If you subscribed on an Android device through Google Play, cancel in the Play Store.
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right.
- Tap Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select Calm.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts to confirm.
You keep access until the end of the current billing period. Google may auto-issue a refund if you request one within about 48 hours of the charge. After that window, you contact Calm to ask the developer for a refund.
How do you cancel Calm on the website (bought directly)?
If you bought Calm straight from the website (not through an app store), cancel from your Calm profile.
- Go to calm.com/profile and log in with the email you used to subscribe.
- Open Settings (the gear icon).
- Tap or click Manage Subscription.
- Select Cancel Subscription and confirm.
You can do the same thing inside the Calm app if you subscribed on the web: tap Profile (bottom right), tap the gear icon, then Manage Subscription > Cancel Subscription. This only works for web purchases. It does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription.
Do you keep access to Calm after you cancel?
Yes. Canceling stops the next renewal. You keep Calm Premium until the end of the period you already paid for, then the account drops back to the free version. So there is no reason to wait until the last minute to cancel a plan you are sure about. Cancel now, keep using it until it lapses.
How do you cancel a Calm free trial before it charges you?
The trial is where the money usually slips out. Calm's trials roll straight into a paid subscription unless you cancel in time.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. The app stores process renewals near the end of the trial, so a same-day cancel can still let the charge through.
- Cancel in the right store. Trial started in the iOS app, cancel through Apple. Trial from Android, cancel in Google Play. Trial from the website, cancel at calm.com/profile.
- Confirm the cancel went through. The subscription should show as canceled with an end date. Screenshot it.
Canceling a trial early does not cut your access short on the app stores. You keep the trial until its scheduled end date, you just do not roll into paid. Want the full playbook on trial timing across services? Here is how to cancel a free trial before it charges you.
Where do you cancel Calm, by how you signed up?
| How you signed up | Where to cancel |
|---|---|
| Apple (iOS app / App Store) | iPhone or iPad: Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Calm > Cancel Subscription |
| Google Play (Android) | Play Store > profile icon > Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions > Calm > Cancel subscription |
| Directly on the web | calm.com/profile > Settings > Manage Subscription > Cancel Subscription |
| Lifetime / one-time purchase | A Calm lifetime membership does not auto-renew. If you still have a separate recurring charge, cancel it in the store above. |
| Through an employer or health plan | Managed by that provider. Contact your HR or benefits team. There may be nothing to cancel. |
Can you get a refund from Calm after you cancel?
Canceling and refunding are two different things. Canceling stops future charges. A refund returns money already taken, and where you ask depends on who billed you.
- Bought on the web (calm.com): Calm offers a refund on eligible direct purchases, generally the initial purchase within 30 days. Renewals and gift cards are usually not eligible, so verify your case with Calm support. Refunds typically post in about 5 to 10 business days depending on your payment provider.
- Apple subscription: Calm cannot refund an Apple charge. Request it from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, or in the Apple Support app under Billing and Subscriptions > Request a Refund.
- Google Play: Google may auto-refund a request made within roughly 48 hours of the charge. After that, contact Calm to request a developer refund through Google Play.
Illustrative example: a first-time Calm Premium web purchase of $79.99 goes through, you change your mind two days later, and you ask Calm to refund it within the 30-day eligible window. Illustrative example. Results vary and are not guaranteed.
What are your rights if Calm charges you after you cancel?
- Credit card billing errors: dispute in writing within 60 days. Under the federal Fair Credit Billing Act, you can dispute a billing error in writing within 60 days of the statement that shows it. Your card issuer must acknowledge the dispute, generally within 30 days, and resolve it, usually within two billing cycles. The CFPB explains these protections.
- Chargebacks. If a charge hits after you canceled and the company will not fix it, your card network may allow a chargeback. Here is the difference between a chargeback vs a refund so you pick the right one.
- Auto-renewal rules are in flux in 2026. The FTC's "click to cancel" rule was vacated by a federal appeals court in 2025, and the FTC restarted rulemaking on negative-option (auto-renew) plans. Many states still have auto-renewal laws requiring clear disclosure and an easy way to cancel. Verify current terms on Calm's site.
