How to Cancel Notion in 2026

How do I cancel Notion on the website?

Do this on a computer or desktop browser. It takes about two minutes.

1. Log in to Notion and open Settings from the left sidebar.
2. Click the Billing tab.
3. Select Change plan.
4. Choose the Free plan to end the paid subscription (or a lower paid tier if you only want to downgrade).
5. Notion asks you to provide some feedback before it lets you finish. Fill it in, then click Downgrade to confirm.

After you confirm, your Billing page shows the date your paid features end. Nothing changes until that date. You will not be charged again once the subscription is set to end. If you do not see a confirmation, you are not done. Repeat the steps and verify the plan now reads Free.

What if I subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play?

This is the gotcha that traps people. Notion lets you upgrade to Plus from inside its iPhone or Android app for a single-member workspace, and that charge runs through Apple or Google, not Notion. When Apple or Google is the biller, the cancel option is not in Notion's Settings. Notion cannot cancel it for you. You have to cancel where you were charged.

If Apple billed you, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, select Notion, then tap Cancel Subscription. If Google Play billed you, open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, select Notion, and tap Cancel subscription. You keep it to the end of the cycle. Notion's own help center says: after you cancel, you still have access to all the paid features until the end of your billing cycle. So there is no rush to squeeze in last-minute work.

The deadline that matters is the renewal date. To avoid the next charge, downgrade before your subscription renews. Cancel at least a day ahead so the change is processed in time. Check your Billing page for the exact renewal date and set a reminder if it is close.

Can I get a refund from Notion?

Sometimes, inside a short window. Per Notion's refund help page, you can get a full (not pro-rated) refund if you downgrade within three days of the invoice date on monthly billing, or within 30 days of the invoice date on annual billing.
